Who builds this
Kufu is Jens Téblick's one-person practice. Before Kufu he founded InterHost Solutions, a web hosting company. That grew into Lemon Live and was sold to a third party in september 2020; he has had no involvement with the company since the sale. He was CTO there for 5 years.
After that he co-founded Veton, a company that builds EV charging stations. At Veton he still builds and maintains the firmware that runs on the charging stations, the cloud platform behind it, the mobile app users control their charger with, and the link to the ERP system — systems that run in production today, not in a test environment.
The same way of working — building it himself, putting it into production himself, making it run himself — carries over into every Kufu engagement.
FAQ
What if our data is a mess?
That is the starting point, not an obstacle. On the first day I look at exactly what you have: spreadsheets, an outdated CRM, loose exports. I build with what exists, and I tell you honestly what needs tidying up first.
Do we need to buy software or licences?
Usually not. I work as much as possible with the tools and systems you already have. Where an extra subscription genuinely helps, I discuss it with you beforehand — the choice and the cost stay yours.
What do we actually have in hand on day three?
A working tool that runs on your own data, explained to the people who will use it. Not a report with recommendations, but something you can open and use straight away.
Is this only for large companies?
No. Kufu is set up for small and mid-sized businesses: companies where one person handles IT alongside everything else, and where a months-long external implementation project isn’t an option. That’s why the packages are short and fixed-price.
What happens after the kickstart?
Your team gets the keys: how it works, the code, and a short handover where needed. Want to keep building? That’s what Ongoing Build is for, at a fixed day rate — with no new engagement to set up.
How quickly can we start?
After the free intro call, we plan the days by mutual agreement. That’s usually possible within a few weeks, depending on both our schedules. There’s no internal approval process or tender ahead of it — if it fits, we set a date.
Do you work on site or remotely too?
The scan and build days happen on site: I want to see with my own eyes how your processes run and talk to the people who work with them every day. For Ongoing Build days, after an earlier kickstart, that can sometimes move to remote by agreement — we settle that case by case.
How do you handle confidentiality and our data?
Signing a non-disclosure agreement is not a problem. I work with the data and systems I find on site, I don’t take data away without discussing it first, and I only ask for the access needed to carry out the engagement.
We've already started something with AI ourselves — can Kufu build on that?
Yes. During the scan I look at what’s already there and tell you honestly what’s worth keeping and what’s better rebuilt. We don’t start from a blank page — we build on what already works.
Do you work with our existing IT partner?
Yes, if you want that. I coordinate with whoever manages your systems, try not to replace anyone, and make sure the handover is just as clear to them if maintenance is needed after I leave.
